Sessions

A session is your signed-in state in the GPCN™ portal. When you sign in and complete two-factor verification, a session is created that keeps you authenticated as you navigate the portal. Sessions are designed to stay active while you're working and expire automatically when they're no longer needed.

How Long Sessions Last

Sessions last up to 7 days. As long as you're actively using the portal, your session renews automatically in the background — you won't be prompted to sign in again during normal use. If you stop using the portal for an extended period, your session will eventually expire and you'll need to sign in again.

Sign Out

To end your session manually, click your profile icon in the sidebar and select Sign Out.

On shared or public computers, always sign out explicitly rather than just closing the browser tab. Closing the tab does not end your session.

What Ends Your Session

Your session may end for the following reasons:

Reason What happens
You sign out Your current session ends immediately
You change your password All of your sessions on all devices are ended
You disable your authenticator app (TOTP) All of your sessions on all devices are ended
An administrator ends your session Your session is ended by your organization
7 days of inactivity Your session expires automatically

Tips for Shared Computers

  • Always sign out when you're done — don't rely on closing the browser tab or window
  • Use private or incognito mode on public or shared machines — the session won't persist after the window is closed
  • Don't leave the portal unattended while signed in on a shared device
